Injury Count Dropped to 33 in Blue Line Crash

Forest Park Mayor Anthony Calderone said 33 people were transported to 10 area hospitals with injuries after two CTA Blue Line trains collided Monday morning.

Calderone originally reported 48 people were injured, but said some of the people waiting on a bus to go to the hospital decided to leave.

He said none of the injuries are life-threatening, and that early indications are a mechanical problem caused the crash.
