Woman, 21, Charged in Oak Park Shooting

A 21-year-old Chicago woman is charged with attempted first-degree murder for the shooting of an Oak Park man.

Police have charged a 21-year-old Chicago woman with attempted first-degree murder in connection with last week's shooting that left an Oak Park man seriously injured with wounds to his shoulder and jaw, Oak Park police said Tuesday.

Erica Anderson, of Chicago, was charged Tuesday with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated battery in the May 30 shooting of James F. Wilson, 50, of the 900 block of North Taylor Avenue in Oak Park, according to a news release from the Oak Park Police Department.

Police said two additional suspects are in custody pending review of the evidence by the Cook County state’s attorney.

If convicted, Anderson could face up to 30 years in prison. She is being held in Cook County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bond.

A preliminary court date has been set for Friday, June 7.
