Sausage Fest: Big Guys to Screen Food Network Appearance with Bobby Flay

Roosevelt Road's new sausage stand got some help from TV chef Bobby Flay. You're invited to watch the results — and party with the Big Guys.

To hear the Food Network tell it, Big Guys was a mess.

"Clashing personalities, unimaginative toppings and a six-figure bank loan" threatened the debut of the new Berwyn business at 7021 Roosevelt Road.

Yet here we are, about one month into the opening. The sausage's are getting char-broiled. The fresh-cut fries are getting fried. The reviews on their Facebook page are gushing.

Could they have done it without the help of TV chef Bobby Flay? Who knows.

But Flay's advice, offered during the filming of his Food Network show Three Days to Open couldn't have hurt. The episode debuts Friday at 9 p.m. To celebrate, Big Guys is throwing a party, a grand opening of sorts where they'll screen the episode on the side of the building via projector, give away free hot dogs to kids 12 and under (with an adult's purchase), host games and raffle of prizes.

They'll also give away tickets for half-price drinks at the the next-door 12th Street Rag.

So, whattya say? See you there to celebrate sausage?
