The small chain of record stores that I was running, NMC Discount Records, whose flagship store was located at 723 1/2 South Blvd in OP, folded and I was able to retain that location and founded Val's halla Records.

Our current location at 239 Harrison in the Oak Park Arts District came to be when our home of 34 years on South Boulevard was sold and all the tenants in those buildings were required to move.
