The 3rd Annual Night for Opportunities

On Saturday, April 14th Opportunity Knocks will pull out all the stops at the annual gala benefit event, A Night for Opportunities.

This year’s event will be emceed by writer-comedian Kevin Biggins and feature live music from The Arts of Life Band. The evening will also feature great food and drink, exciting raffles and auctions and the premiere performance of our very own ‘Dancing with the Warriors,’ a choreographed dance routine featuring our program participants. The evening will also feature awards and honors recognizing our most outstanding volunteers and community partners.

Tickets are available online for $75. Price includes passed hors d’Oeuvres, meat and pasta carving stations, dessert station, open bar, valet parking and access to the complimentary shuttle bus that will run from Kevil’s Restaurant in Forest Park and provide front door drop-off at Elmcrest Banquets.

The live auction boasts amazing getaways to beautiful homes in Naples, Florida, Steamboat, Colorado and Long Beach, Michigan. But the star of the live auction will surely be the appearance of Spike, the Shorty Bulldog puppy who will be 12-weeks old on the night of the event and in search of a new home. The silent auction will also be chock full of great items, including tickets to Chicago sporting events, concerts and festival, dining packages, weekend getaways, spa treatments and so much more.

All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the local non-profit, Opportunity Knocks and a mission dedicated to providing opportunities and resources for individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently, OK is working its way into the third year of operating an after-school program for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. Program enrollment is at full capacity and planning is underway for the next phase, a full-day program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are older than 22 years of age.

Opportunity Knocks is a privately funded non-profit organization that relies on event fundraising to support programming operations. With great focus from an awesomely dedicated and talented core of volunteers, OK’s events have become a staple in the community calendar. The OK Gala has emerged as a marquee event in that calendar and this year is sure to carry on that tradition.
