There's nothing quite like a pig roast to draw the crowd and get your stomach rumbling.
, once again hosts the 9th annual Misericordia Pig Roast, a celebration of pork, fun and of course, raising money. The event kicks off from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.
All proceeds from the roast will go to Misericordia, a community of care that serves over 600 children with developmental and physical disabilities by providing residency at its Chicago campus.
The main feature of the event, will of course be the pig, but diners can also expect hearty portions of beans, coleslaw, patato sald and more. Ted Hosty, owner of Old School Tavern and Grill, 201 N. Desplaines, will again be in charge of cooking.
You ticket in is the purchase of a pig roast t-shirt for $25. In addition to food, attendees will also get access to a select open bar of beer, wine, well drinks and soda.
"It's a great event, and it draws a big crowd every year," said Danylle Milano, who helps put the fundraiser on each year.
