Oak Park Ben & Jerry's is Now KaleidoScoops
The Ben & Jerry's store in downtown Oak Park, 1025 Lake St.  is now a KaleidoScoops. According to the KaleidoScoops website, there are three other KaleidoScoops locations in Illinois, with stores in Barrington, Crystal Lake and Winthrop Harbor. 

Crumbs Bake Shop Leaves Downtown Oak Park
The former bake shop space at the corner of Lake and Marion streets in downtown Oak Park is now vacant. 

Dominick's Cuts Hours, Slashes Prices as Final Days Near
Dominick's, 259 Lake St. in Oak Park, will close Dec. 28 when Safeway pulls out of the Chicago market. Most merchandise is half off at the store as they clear the space before they close.

Jewel Offering One-time Grocery Discount to Former Dominick's Shoppers
Jewel-Osco stores throughout Chicagoland are offering a 10 percent discount off the total grocery bill of former Dominick's customers who turn in their Dominick's Fresh Values loyalty card through Dec. 31. The discount does not apply to liquor.

Lake and Forest Developers Making ‘Proper Progress,’ Village Manager Says
The developers planning to redevelop the Lake and Forest property in downtown Oak Park have made the “proper amount of progress” since the Village Board approved their 180-day extension request in October, Oak Park Village Manager Cara Pavlicek told board members at a recent meeting. Per their extension agreement, Lake Street Investors will need to provide proof that they have secured equity for the project, a 20-story high-rise containing commercial and residential space, by Jan. 15.

Mariano's to Open 11 New Stores, Skips Oak Park, River Forest
The Chicago Tribune reported that Roundy's, the parent company of Mariano's, has purchased 11 Chicago-area Dominick's locations that were slated to close at the end of December.
