Qdoba Closing in River Forest, Other Chicago-Area Spots

Qdoba Mexican Grill is scaling back its restaurants in the Chicago area, and the River Forest location is one of them.

The Colorado-based chain restaurant announced Wednesday morning that it would be closing 18 area restaurants, including five in Chicago. See the full list here

Each restaurant will close for good at 3 p.m. Friday, June 28.

On June 17, Qdoba's parent company Jack in the Box announced it would close 67 restaurants nationwide.

“By closing these locations and optimizing our company footprint, we can be more effective in focusing our advertising and marketing resources to support existing and planned restaurants in our core markets where we have high levels of brand awareness,” Qdoba President Tim Casey said in a news release.

The release also stated that Qdoba could open up to 145 new restaurants in the next year or two.

The River Forest restaurant is located at 7343 Lake St.
