Love abounds at Downtown Oak Park event.

Here are just a few scenes from Friday's "What's Love Got to Do With It?" event, thrown by the Downtown Oak Park business group. 

Although temperatures were blustery, local businesses kept things warm with sales, specials, performances and cameos from history's most romantic figures.

At , 1024 North Boulevard, Oak Park Festival Theatre's Kevin Theis and Belinda Bremner delighted shoppers with spirited sonnet readings. In the clip, Theis reads William Butler Yeats’ Songs of the Wandering Aengus, followed by Belinda Bremner’s reading of Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s immortal How Do I Love Thee?

Over at , 125. N. Marion St., Megan Wells, artistic director at the Madison Street Theatre, performed as Scheherazade, regaling the crowd with the Persian queen's tales.
