Wonderwall to Close Harrison Street Store

Specialty music store in the Oak Park Arts District to close shop, with plans to relocate.

GiGi Monaco tells Patch the is closing its doors and reopening elsewhere.

The specialty music store, which features ukulele and sitar instruments alongside Beatles memorabilia, will be open this weekend. After that, the shop at 325 Harrison St. will be closed.

Monaco said it's too early to say exactly where Wonderwall's new location might be but said she and her husband Clar are scouting the south suburbs, closer to their Chicago Heights home.

The couple have been traveling back and forth from Spokane, Wash. to care for a sick relative. She also said they're looking for some time away from work.

"I cried over this decision. I love Harrison Street and I love Oak Park and it’s a hard decision but we had to do it," she said.
