Fast Facts: Oak Park is seeking its first back-to-back conference championships since New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert played for the Huskies. Locke has slid right in to replace Ka’Darryl Bell (playing at Bradley) and Gabe Levin (attending prep school in Connecticut). Locke transferred in from Brooks and is averaging 18.1 points per game. Cammon is one of the area’s top running backs and also a three-year varsity basketball player. He is looking at the upper tier of Division III football programs for his college future. Gustafson is the Huskies’ best defender and three-point shooter, and is getting Division III looks. Ross will be a game-time decision for the Hinsdale Central game as he recovers from an injury. Hinsdale Central comes in as winners of its last five games and features a bevy of multi-sport athletes. Rafferty has emerged as the team’s star as a sophomore, averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds per game. Owens, the starting quarterback on the football team, is averaging 11 points and five assists as the point guard. Hamilton was a state runner-up in doubles at the state tennis meet last year and two-way football player (perhaps the heir apparent to Owens at quarterback next year) in addition to his work on the hard court for the Red Devils. Bunting was Owens’ top target in the passing game on the football team and is receiving major Division I interest. He also started on the varsity volleyball team as a freshman. Eck is the Red Devils’ starting center fielder on the baseball team. Oak Park won the first match-up 47-45 on Dec. 7.

Quotable: “We will need to handle OPRF’s pressure defense, rebound more efficiently, contain their guards’ penetration and challenge their shooters with more urgency,” Hinsdale Central coach Nick Latorre said.
