Concordia University Chicago will host its annual cancer awareness Relay for Life event Saturday, April 27, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., on the athletic track at its River Forest campus, with a goal of raising $25,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Cancer survivors, caregivers and the community to take part in CUC’s Mini Relay For Life by joining or organizing a team for this special event. Activities will include a life size game of checkers, a beanbags tournament, silent auction, themed laps, photography booth, face painting, live entertainment and feature a special guest appearance by 103.5 KISS FM personality Erik Z, who will be giving away tickets for that evening’s Carly Rae Jepsen and Olly Murs concert.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society. According to the American Cancer Society, millions have taken part in Relay For Life since it was established in 1986, making it the world’s largest fundraising event. Across the nation each year, communities mobilize for more than 4,800 overnight Relay events to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones and raise money for the fight against cancer.

Concordia-Chicago is also teaming up with the following local businesses and organizations to raise funds for Relay for Life:
