Additional information about the event can be accessed by visiting http://www.op97.org/documents/CommonCorePresentation-April29.pdf.
This presentation continues a recent trend of Oak Park hosting events featuring national experts talking about important education-related topics. On November 14, 2012, Professor Heckman, the Henry Schulz Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago and the 2001 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics, gave a presentation about investing in early childhood development. In addition, last spring, Charlotte Danielson, an internationally-recognized expert in the area of teacher effectiveness, and Sara Ray Stoelinga, who is the senior director at the Urban Education Institute and an associate clinical professor at the University of Chicago, gave a presentation about teacher effectiveness.
