District 97 Middle School Students and Staff Help Raise Money for Misericordia

Julian Middle School and Brooks Middle School raised more than $3100 for Misericordia in conjunction with the organization's 28th Annual Candy Days.

On April 26 and 27, students and staff members from Percy Julian Middle School and Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School raised more than $3100 for Misericordia in conjunction with the organization’s 28th Annual Candy Days—shattering the personal record the schools set last year by more than $2000.

“This is an ideal service project for our students because people just can’t say no to kids trying to make a difference,” said Julian teacher Tim Walsh.

Misericordia is home to more than 600 children and adults with developmental disabilities that range from mild or moderate to severe and profound.
