Final 'Harry Potter' Ends a Decade-Long Adventure
Tickets still available for Thursday midnight showings in the Oak Park and River Forest areas.
Clarification: An earlier version of this story indicated the Lake Theatre would be giving away souvenir cups. The theater will instead be giving away 3-D glasses.
After nearly 10 years at the movies, moviegoers will be able to see the conclusion of the Harry Potter series beginning this Thursday at midnight when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 opens.
Lake Theatre Assistant Manager Felicia Ayers said the Thursday 3-D midnight show is already sold out, but the theatre just received the 2-D version of the movie and has about 400 tickets for those shows.

While definitely fun, Ayers said, "it’s going to be crazy."
The first movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone opened on Nov. 16, 2001. Since then, the world learned how the story would end when the seventh and final book was released on July 7, 2009.
Yet many who read the book and know the ending still want to see how the conclusion is brought to life on screen. The penultimate movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, brought in $274.3 million in the U.S. and $824.1 million worldwide.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours and 5 minutes long. Below, check out where you can still find midnight tickets locally, as well as prices and showtimes:
