Tuesday's seminar will tout benefits of Irish study abroad program.

If you're a high school student looking to study over in the Old Sod, you don't want to miss Tuesday's "Education in Ireland" open house.

Backed the Irish government, the "Education in Ireland" program promotes the advantages of studying abroad, including, organizers say, "excellence in liberal arts, engineering, science and technology, with universities that produce intellectuals, visionaries, innovators and thought-leaders that inspire, enlighten and change the world."

Parents, teachers and students from across the area are invited to the seminar, scheduled to take place from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at , 505 Washington Blvd. in Oak Park, to learn about application tips and how to apply for financial aid.

Representatives from Dublin City University, National University of Ireland Galway, National University of Ireland Maynooth, Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, University College, Dublin and the University of Limerick will be on-hand to answer questions.

To register for the event, e-mail: eduireland@enterprise-ireland.com or sign up through the Education in Ireland Facebook page.

The National University is made up of 4 colleges, Galway, Dublin, Cork and Maynoth. Limerick is not part of the NUI. Trinity in Dublin is not part of the Nui either. Trinity and Cork are the best colleges to attend.
