Oak Park Adult Day Services Program Grows

Expansion opens up space for 40 more participants.

After extensive renovation, Catholic Charities program Accolade doesn’t expect to stop growing anytime soon.

Theresa Gates-Ross, site director for Accolade, told Wednesday Journal she expects to keep adding participants.

“We provide a respite. Caregiving is difficult,” she told the Journal. “And a lot of times the caregivers don’t understand that until they’re way deep in it.”

After the June 16 reopening of the South Humphrey Avenue building, the program is now boasts more activity rooms, an office and a dining area, among others.

The cost of the program is $60. All seniors are welcome, as are those who need constant care or young adults with disabilities.
