Federal grant application cycle begins Friday

The application cycle for the Village’s 2013 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding awards begins Fri., May 4. Funding is available to organizations that provide services to low- and moderate-income persons. Conservatory plant sale is Saturday

The 23rd annual plant sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sat., at the Oak Park Conservatory, 615 Garfield St. A variety of vegetables, flowers, vines and ground covers will be available, most grown in the Conservatory greenhouses. Register for public safety notifications

With the season of severe weather well underway, officials are urging residents to sign up to receive important public safety notifications. A simple, two-step process is all it takes to register. Just go towww.oak-park.us/notifyme and complete a brief online form. Once submitted, the registrant will receive an e-mail with a link that must be followed to complete the process. The system allows residents to choose how they would like to be notified should an issue arise — by telephone, e-mail or text message. Residents who do not have an e-mail address can call 708.358.5698 and register to receive messages by telephone.
