200 hours vinyasa yoga teacher training

Our yoga teacher training is designed for students who want to deepen their knowledge of yoga as part of a supportive community of fellow trainees. During training you will learn a full variety of yoga techniques in order to have the knowledge to share them with others. This training is perfect for those who want to expand their own practice of asana, pranayama, meditation and more whether or not you have an intention of teaching. We have applied for registration so that upon completion, you will meet the requirements for the Yoga Alliance 200 hour teaching certification.

Topics covered include:
Yoga Asana
Assisting and Adjusting
Philosophy: Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and more
Ethics
Anatomy: Gross and Subtle
Teaching to all-levels and special populations

Training sessions will take place on 15 weekends between September 2013 and March 2014. Saturdays 2-6pm, Sundays 12-5pm.

Training dates are as follows:
2013:
October 5-6, 12-13, 26-27
November 2-3, 16-17
December 7-8, 14-15
2014:
January 11-12, 18-19, 25-26
February 1-2, 8-9, 22-23
March 1-2, 15-16

In addition to the listed weekends, your tuition also includes 30 regular classes to be taken at Yoga Trek in order to complete the training requirements.

The training will be led by Nicole Sopko, also known by the name of Gopi Om. She is a disciple of Yogi Sri Dharma Mittra. She is a dedicated student of yoga who has completed training up to the 800 hour level with Sri Dharma and is certified at the E-RYT 500 level through the Yoga Alliance. She is committed to experiencing and sharing the study of classical yoga with all who are interested in learning. Guest teachers will also come to share in their areas of expertise throughout the training.

Requirements: Must have at least one year of experience with yoga practice. Prior to the training, a doctor's letter will be required.

To apply: Please email info@yogatrekcenter.com with your admission essay containing at least 250 words about your history with yoga and why you are applying for training.

Upon acceptance, a $100 deposit (which will be applied to the total cost of tuition) will be required to hold your space. You will receive an assignment to be completed prior to the first day of training along with the required reading and book list. Book costs will be around $150 and can be purchased through the studio at a discount or anywhere else you choose. No additional costs will be required.
