Cathy Richardson Band with Anne Harris plus Temple CD Release

CATHY RICHARDSON has been a stalwart of the local scene since the 90's with her powerful, soulful voice leading an always amazing band of stellar musicians. An engagingly entertaining performer, her shows are the stuff of local legend (check out this video from a recent show on YouTube http://youtu.be/ekS1dnrYz3k) and her catalogue of self-released CDs have marked sales of over 50,000 thanks to steady rotation from great Chicago radio stations like WXRT. The Daily Herald has said, "Richardson always puts on a great show and her band makes even the tiniest stage rock like an arena." Cathy Richardson Band regularly places in Chicagoconcertgoers.com Top Ten Concerts of the Year.

Richardson's real life rock n' roll persona led to her discovery for the role of Janis Joplin in the Off Broadway show Love, Janis where she channeled the music legend to rave reviews around the country. Along the way she's continued releasing new records, picked up a Grammy Nomination, four DIY Music Awards... and a Doobie Award from High Times Magazine.

Richardson has spent most of the last five years on tour singing with the legendary classic rock band of one of her biggest influences (Grace Slick) in Jefferson Starship.  Music critic Greg M. Schwartz at Bullz-eye.com named her Breakout Artist of the 2008 for her work with Jefferson Starship, with whom she has played venues from Tokyo to London, Paris to Tel Aviv, Rome to New York City and beyond. All this world touring has left her notable absence on the local music scene so die hard fans won't want to miss this Midwest reunion of Cathy Richardson and her beloved band featuring Anne Harris (fiddle), Jude Gold (guitar), Greg Panciera (bass) and Steven Gillis (drums).

ANNE HARRIS: Chicago-based singer-songwriter and fiddler Anne Harris delivered her strongest, most compelling work to date on her release "Gravity and Faith", her voice exuding a revealing honesty, clarity and deep-rooted strength and her fiddle playing at its most emotionally engaging. She has
performed as a guest violinist with psychedelic 70’s legend Jefferson Starship and toured regularly with blues innovator, Otis Taylor. Anne finds performing other people’s music to be an exciting opportunity for in-the-moment creativity and discovery and the experience ultimately influences her own writing, leading her into new territory.

TEMPLE: Temple celebrates the release of her new CD "Miracle." She has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene since moving to Chicago 15 years ago. She has made her mark as an in demand teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music and has sung backing vocals for the internationally popular jam band Umphrey's McGee, pop superstar Gloria Estefan and the popular local Chicago band Tributosauras. Temple's music is complex, yet it feels second nature. Her formal training in classical and jazz music have allowed her to create a sound where melodies and underlying harmonic structure go beyond the typical two or three chords often found in standard pop writing. Variety is the key to Temple's songwriting and she takes the listener on her journey. More info on temple can be found at www.songsbytemple.com
