The New Budapest Orpheum Society, a Chicago-based, eight-member ensemble, will perform Jewish Cabaret music and political songs from the turn of the century to the present at West Suburban Temple Har Zion (WSTHZ) in River Forest, Ill. Its repertoire of songs, sung in German,  Yiddish, Hebrew and English, will include pieces composed for the golden age of German-Jewish and Yiddish film during the 1920s and 1930s. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from the WSTHZ office by calling 708.366.9000 or sending an email to office@wsthz.org. A dessert buffet is included in the ticket price. A cash bar will be available before the performance.

Proceeds from the concert benefit the Temple Fund and the Victor A. Mirelman Education Fund. The Mirelman Fund provides financial and educational resources to the WSTHZ's Early Childhood, Adult Education and Koven Religious School programs.

I attended the first concert in 2011 which was fabulous. Don't miss this one.
