Gallery PINK presents Hot Sensibilities
Gallery PINK presents Hot Sensibilities, a group sculpture show featuring Shelley Gilchrist, Peter N. Gray, Alan Emerson Hicks, Ruyell Ho, Beth Kamhi, Mimi Peterson, Eric H. Steele and Michelle Stone. The show opens Saturday, July 12 with an artist reception from 3-5pm. The show closes on August 23rd. Artist Mimi Peterson describes the group: "3-D 12 Sculptors is committed to building a strong collective identity while projecting distinctive individuality in thematic exhibitions and community projects. Members’ personal perceptions on art and societal issues cover as broad a range as their materials of choice. Decomposed found objects, recycled plastic and metal, salvaged wood, earth and water, steel and bronze are some resources members effectively reconfigure as they translate ideas into three dimensional forms.
The works of 3-D 12 Sculptors make clear statements that sculpture can be a way of interfacing between language, lifestyle and emotion in order to join the socially conscious dialog between community and art. Following a successful series of collaborations (2008-2013), artists Mimi Peterson, Peter N. Gray, Alan Emerson Hicks, and Eric Steele continue to explore the metaphysical process of recycling found materials and objects. Shelley Gilchrist, Ruyell Ho, Beth Kamhi, and Michelle Stone offer softer interpretations of personal landscapes for the theme of each exhibition."
