Kumihimo + Travel = Great Idea
Ready to learn something new? Looking for a project to take on the road this summer? Here's a suggestion from Bead In Hand. Kumihimo is a Japanese style of braiding that can be done with or without beads. The technique is easier than it looks, and the variety of patterns you can create is, well, practically endless. What makes it a great travel activity? Once everything is set up on your kumihimo disk you have everything you need and it all fits into a large zip-lock bag. No additional tools required.
Bead In Hand has classes scheduled for Kumihimo on Sunday, April 27, 12:30 - 3:30 pm or Sunday, June 8, 12:30 - 3:30 pm. The class fee is $35 and materials are extra. Students are required to string beads onto cord in advance, so plan ahead. Details are provided when you register and are also available on our website, www.beadinhand.com.
Registration can be made by phone (708-848-1761), in person, or with PayPal on our website.
Participating in a class provides the skills you need for continuing on your own. You'll learn by doing, with the opportunity to ask questions and learn from those around you too. Bead In Hand offers classes in basic stringing, earring design, wire work, off-loom weaving, and more. Visit www.beadinhand.com/beading-classes for more information.
