Pete Ellman Big Band plus Kennedy Jr. High School Jazz Band and Bob Lark

The Kennedy Jr. High School Jazz Band opens the show. Plus Bob Lark, of the DePaul University Jazz Dept, will perform with both bands.

Besides working full time at Ellmans Music Center for the past 25 years, Peter Ellman was in the Illinois Air National Guard for 20 years and retired in 2000. Peter continues to play professionally and has performed with nationally known artists such as Wayne Newton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aretha Franklin, Bob Newhart, Chicago Sinfonietta, and many more. In 2009 the Pete Ellman Big Band was formed and they play every Tuesday night at Jillys of Naperville. They invite student jazz ensembles to join them each week and will provide guest clinicians. Being a trumpet player Petes favorite artist to date has been world renowned trumpeter Wayne Bergeron. Peter has worked at Ellmans Music Center since 1985 full time. Previous to that he worked part time helping Joan and Gil. Having worked in nearly every position in the company, from repairman to outside sales representative to purchasing agent to janitor, he has a uniquely complete vision on how to run the business. Peter attended DePaul University and majored in Music Performance. Since coming to work full-time Peter has attended many industry specific and financial seminars including NASMD, NAPBIRT, and NAMM. He sits on the board of the Naperville Municipal Band.
