Polish Film Festival: White at the Oak Park Arms

The Polish Film Festival series continues with the film, “White” at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. The film is the second of a trilogy and will be viewed and reviewed with radio announcer Dan Kane.

“White,” the 1994 French-Polish drama art film is the second in The Three Colors Trilogy co-written, produced and directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski, and it’s based on the French Revolutionary ideals. It follows “Blue” and precedes “Red.”

Although “Three Colors: White” received critical acclaim by critics, it is considered by many to be the weakest of the trilogy. Kieslowski won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 44th Berlin International Film Festival in 1994.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information call 708-386-4040 or visit http://www.oakparkarms.com.
