Writers at Wright Presents Alexander McCall Smith

Writers at Wright presents a special evening with beloved New York Times bestselling author Alexander McCall Smith to celebrate the publication of the newest book in his No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon.

In the latest book in the bestselling series of mysteries set in Botswana, Mma Ramotswe is asked to help the proprietor of the Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon, who is having trouble with her business. The salon has suffered some unfortunate events, including face cream that burns the skin. Could someone be trying to put the salon out of business? Meanwhile, on the home front, Mma Makutsi is going to have a baby. But in Botswana—a land where family has always been held above all else but which is on the crossroads between old and new—this may be cause for as much controversy as celebration.

Alexander McCall Smith is the author of the beloved, bestselling No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, the Isabel Dalhousie series, the Portuguese Irregular Verbs series, the 44 Scotland Street series, and the Corduroy Mansions series. He is also the author of numerous children’s books. He is professor emeritus of medical law at the University of Edinburgh and has served with many national and international organizations concerned with bioethics. He was born in what is now known as Zimbabwe and taught law at the University of Botswana. He lives in Scotland.

This will be a ticketed event. ADMISSION $10. Each ticket can be redeemed for $10 off the cover price of The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon on the night of the event.
