Buy a Lotto Ticket at Oak Park BP? You May Have Won $1.5M

Oak Park gas station sells winning lottery ticket, the Illinois Lottery announces.

Someone bought a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million in Oak Park, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The Mega Millions jackpot rolled Friday night and now stands at an estimated $344 million for tomorrow’s drawing. Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing produced the second $1 million Match 5 winning ticket in Illinois since the game was enhanced in October, according to a news release from the Illinois Lottery. 

The winner, who has yet to come forward, purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket at Roosevelt BP, 7140 West Roosevelt, and matched the first five numbers — 11 - 29 - 44 - 63 - 64 - (03) — in the Friday, December 6 drawing. Over 193,000 Illinoisans also won prizes ranging from $5,000 to $3, according to the release.

The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.

The Mega Millions drawing takes place Tuesday and Friday nights at 10:00 p.m. and the current estimated jackpot is $344,000,000. For more information, please visit www.illinoislottery.com.

Oak Park has proven to be a lucky place to buy a lottery ticket in the past few months. At the end of October, an Oak Park man won $8.75 million, and another Oak Park man won $150,000 in the Oct. 9 drawing.
