OPRF Grad to Compete for Miss Illinois USA 2014 Title

Oak Park and River Forest High School Grad and Oak Park resident Judith Ruiz-Branch will compete for the 2014 title Nov. 22-24 in Chicago.

Oak Parker Judith Ruiz-Branch, a 2006 OPRF graduate, has been selected as a finalist to compete for the Miss Illinois USA 2014 title, according to OPRF. 

Ruiz-Branch is a multimedia journalist, who graduated from Columbia College Chicago and has worked for CLTV, WGN-TV and WBEZ Radio, according to her website. 

"Judith loves sports, especially basketball. She plans on establishing herself as renowned sports journalist. Judith also recently co-founded a non-for-profit, the Angel Gabriel Foundation, in memory of her Uncle who passed away from cancer in 2011. She plans to also open her own production company in his honor as well," the bio on her website reads.

Ruiz-Branch also attended Longfellow Elementary School and Percy Julian Middle School in Oak Park, according to Forest Leaves

The competition will take place November 22-24 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Chicago.
