Oak Parker plays lead role in The Nutcracker, showing at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire.

An Oak Park resident will star in the classic holiday tale, The Nutcracker, showing at the Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences in Lincolnshire from Nov. 8 through Dec. 28.

The Nutcracker is the story of a young girl named Marie and her unusual Christmas gift. When Marie receives a beautiful Nutcracker on Christmas Eve from her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer, she awakens in the middle of the night to find that her nutcracker has come to life. Unfortunately, other toys have come to life as well, including the evil Mouse King. The Mouse King has stolen the powerful magic crown which has the ability to turn the wearer into a human boy. It will take Marie and a team of kind-hearted toys to reach the Sugar Plum Fairy before the wicked Mouse King.

The holiday musical will be directed and choreographed by Matt Raftery.
