This is What $400,000 Will Buy You

We look at two similarly priced homes, one in Oak Park and one in Forest Park. Which would you prefer?

1. 1005 Ferdinand, Forest Park: Priced at $390,000, according to listings.

This is a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom single family home.

The home, built in 1929, features a new granite kitchen, hardwood floors and a wine fridge. There's a large deck in back with a pretty big yard, and the master bedroom features a huge walk-in closet and private deck.

2. 403 N. Taylor, Oak Park: Priced at $399,000, according to listings.

This is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom single family home.

It was built in 1913 and features an open floor plan with lots of natural light. The first-floor master bedroom has a wall of built-in closets. There's a deck in the back yard with lots of space beyond that, and it's fenced in.
