Uncork Illinois Leaves a Good Aftertaste

Downtown Oak Park's local wine event really opens up.

Local wine lovers gathered in downtown Oak Park Saturday for a chance to sip and savor offerings from Illinois wineries.

Sounds like it was a (grape) smashing success.

Quoting Downtown Oak Park director Pat Zubak, Midwest Wine Press reports more than 2,000 commemorative wine glasses were doled out at the first-ever Uncork Illinois event.

For $15, attendees received their choice of tastings from wineries like August Hill Winery, Fox Valley Winery, Illinois River Winery, Lynfred Winery, Waterman Winery, Cooper’s Hawk Winery, Pheasant Hollow Winery, Shawnee Winery, Glunz Family Winery, and Acquaviva Winery

Proceeds from the event will be sent to , a hands-on children's museum in Oak Park.
