After-Hours Halloween Fun Night for Families October 27

Families will enjoy games, crafts, stories, and refreshments at this special, after-hours event on Saturday, October 27 at the Dole Branch Library.

It’s just a little spooky, ooky, creepy, and crawly! Families are invited to Halloween Fun Night after-hours, on Saturday, October 27 at the Dole Branch Library. The fun starts at 6:00 pm and runs through 7:30 pm. Enjoy games, crafts, stories, and refreshments best for ages 4 to 10 with an adult. Costumes encouraged, but not required. Register at the library, online, or call 708-386-9032 beginning October 12. This event is free and open to the public.

    Have fun perfecting your Halloween make-up with our DIY face-painting supplies! All ages. (Little ones with a grown-up's help, please.)

    Monday, October 15
    4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Maze Branch Library
    Join us to make a fun string of paper jack o' lanterns! Best for ages 4 and up, no registration required.
  • Toddler Halloween Craft
    Tuesday, October 23
    11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Dole Branch Library
    A fun Halloween craft just for the littlest hands! Best for ages 1 to 3, with a caregiver. No registration required.
  • Special Spooky Storytime
    Friday, October 26
    10:30 am to 11:00 am Main Library
    Join us for stories and songs with a Halloween theme. All ages, no registration required.

For adults, Mark Z. Danielewski, best-selling author of House of Leaves, will perform a theatrical reading of The Fifty Year Sword, a powerfully chilling novella – a ghost story for grown-up readers. This Writers at Wright event begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 15 at Unity Temple, 875 Lake Street, Oak Park. Tickets are $10, available at The Book Table (1045 Lake Street, 708-386-9800) or online.
