Looking to find new friends and maybe something more? Oak Park Public Library is debuting “Speed Dating for 40s+,” a new event, from 7 pm to 10 pm Saturday, September 15. Registration is required for this free event. Register at the Main Library, online at oppl.org/events/calendar, or call 708-452-3440.

The evening will start with an hour of informal mixing, complete with refreshments, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Then comes a round-robin style opportunity to have one-on-one conversations for 2½ minutes with a variety of other people.

“The idea for Speed Dating at Oak Park Public Library grew out of a successful evening designed for 20 and 30-somethings we hosted last winter,” says Leigh Tarullo, Assistant Manager of Adult and Teen Services. “Forty-four people showed up to give Speed Dating a try.”
