Memorial Service for National Guardsman Held at Unity Temple This Saturday
A memorial service for Illinois Army National Guard Soldier, Spc. Lee Stewart Atkins, 24, of River Forest, will be held Oct. 27 at Unity Temple in Oak Park.
A memorial service for Illinois Army National Guard Soldier, Spc. Lee Stewart Atkins, 24, of River Forest will be held this weekend in Oak Park.
Atkins took his own life Oct. 19 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
He was a combat veteran and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

The service will be held at Unity Temple in Oak Park at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.
In an obituary published by the Chicago Sun-Times, the family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions can be made in honor of Lee Atkins to the Wounded Warrior Project.
