Trivia: Test Your Olympic Knowledge (Part 1)

The Summer Olympics begin on July 27, but how well do you know the Games? All this week, Patch will post trivia questions to test your knowledge.

From Michael Phelps winning eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics to Nadia Comăneci receiving the first perfect 10 in 1976, there have been several unforgettable moments in Olympic history.

As hundreds of world-class athletes prepare to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games beginning July 27, Patch is celebrating the start of the games by posting Olympic trivia questions all this week.

Select your answers in the polls below, and tell us about your favorite Olympics moment in the comments section. We'll post the correct answers in the comments at 5 p.m. today, and make sure to check back tomorrow for another quiz!

Looking for a way to celebrate the Olympics locally? You can find local events for Olympic Fun Day on July 28 on the Let’s Move website, which has a page about how to set up your own local Olympics

Also check out our Directory and Events Calendar for listings of places where you can learn and participate in Olympic sports ranging from basketball to karate, gymnastics, swimming and more.

Tony, you got it! Those are the correct answers. Here's a bit more info: " Tarzan was played by: Johnny Weismuller, who won two swimming gold medals, in 1924 and in 1928; Buster Crabbe, who won a swimming bronze in 1928; Hermann Brix, who won silver in the shot put in 1928; and Glen Morris, who took gold in the decathlon in 1936. Golf was an Olympic event in 1900 and 1904. Comaneci had seven perfect 10s, Eyser had a wooden leg and Parker dunked the ball.
