What Should Replace Caribou Coffee in Oak Park?

Patch wants to know: What do you think should go into Caribou Coffee's storefront now that it's leaving Oak Park Avenue?

Earlier this week, we told you that Caribou Coffee is shuttering one of its two Oak Park shops on Sunday, along with 160 other stores.

The Caribou located at 136 N. Oak Park Ave.will close at noon this Sunday, April 14. The Caribou at 423 N. Harlem Ave. will remain open.

That will leave vacant a nice corner spot located at Oak Park Avenue and Lake Street.

So now it's your chance to play community planner:

What do you think should fill the Caribou Coffee vacancy? Share your suggestions in the comments!

Anything but another faceless national/international corporate chain. Come on, mom & pop, Oak Park needs you! However, we don't need more food or beverage options in the 'hood. We have enough of those. And stop in at MacSpecialist on the other side of Oak Park Ave. It's like an Apple Store, but family owned and operated for 25 years. They need our support, Apple Inc. doesn't.

I'd love to see a practical country store that sells locally made goods and food.
