Tire Thieves Target Toyotas, Thefts in School: Police Blotter

Toyotas Targeted in Tire Thefts

• Someone stole a spare tire from a Toyota Rav-4 between 3:30 p.m. May 31 and 8:30 a.m. June 2 in the 400 block of South Grove Avenue. 
• Someone tried to steal spare tire from a Toyota Rav-4 between 9 p.m. p.m. June 1 and 8:30 a.m. June 2 in the 400 block of South Grove Avenue. 

Spare Tire Stolen

Someone stole a spare tire from Chevy Blazer between 4 p.m. June 1 and 8 a.m. June 2 in the 100 block of South Humphrey Street. The estimated loss is $400, police said. 

GPS Unit, Glasses Stolen From Car

Someone stole a Garmin GPS unit and two pairs of glasses from an unlocked car between 8 p.m. June 1 and 11 a.m. June 2 in the 200 block of South East Avenue. The estimated loss is $910, police said. 

Bike Theft

Someone stole a women's bike and a bottle of Tide detergent from a garage in the 500 block of North Lombard Avenue between 8 and 10 p.m. 

Window Broken

Someone broke a window at a management company in the 200 block of South Boulevard between 7 p.m. June 1 and 7:18 a.m. June 2. The estimated damage is $400, police said.

Tire Stolen From Toyota

• Someone stole a spare tire from a Toyota Rav4 between 9:10 and 11:40 p.m. May 31 June 1 in the 400 block of South Grove Avenue. 
  
• Someone stole a spare tire from a Toyota Rav-4 between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard.

Car Keys Stolen

Someone stole the keys for a 2010 Hyundai that were left by a tree in the park in the 900 block of North Ridgeland Avenue around noon.

Friday, May 31

$3,500 Stolen From Van

Someone stole $3,500 cash and checks from an unlocked work van in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue around 3 p.m. 

Bike Theft

Someone stole an unlocked bike from a yard in the 700 block of Woodbine Avenue between 8:50 p.m. May 30 and 4:10 a.m. May 31.

Mailbox Stolen

Someone stole a copper mailbox between 4 and 5:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Carpenter Street. The total estimated loss is $70, police said.

iPhone Stolen at School

Someone stole an iPhone 4 from a girl's book bag at Brooks Middle School between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. 

$80 Stolen From School Locker

Someone stole $80 from a student's locker at Brooks Middle School between 8:50 a.m. and 2:50 p.m.
