TUESDAY, JULY 23

$13,000 in Watches, Electronics Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole more than $13,000 in laptops, watches and cash from a home in the 700 block of Forest Avenue. Police said the burglar got into the home through an unlocked back door. 

Felony Marijuana Possession

Police charged Brandon Watt, 21, of the 100 block of North Harvey Avenue in Oak Park with marijuana possession. Police stopped Watt in the 8000 block of Lake Street around 1:50 a.m. and found he had 34 grams of marijuana. He was charged with Class 4 felony possession of marijuana, police said.

$10,000 in Watches Stolen

Someone stole two custom watches, worth more than $10,000, from a home in the 900 block of Bonnie Brae Street while the residents were on vacation between July 12 and July 21. Police said the burglar may have gotten into the home through an open window.

Felony Identity Theft Arrest

Richard Lee, 47, of Chicago was arrested for identity theft after he tried to spend $179 with a bad check at Jewel, 7525 Lake St. Lee, who was arrested around 7:20 p.m. in the Jewel parking lot, also had fraudulent documents and identification, police said. He was charged with felony identity theft and illegal possession of an altered ID card.

THURSDAY, JULY 18

Bike Theft Arrest

Tyran Lockett, 24, of Chicago was arrested for stealing a bike at Walgreens, 7251 W. Lake St. around 4:30 p.m. Police found Lockett on the stolen bike in the 1300 block of Thatcher Avenue. He was charged with theft, police said. 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17

Deceptive Practice Report  

A woman ran out of Jewel, 7525 Lake St. after the store denied her transaction around 5 p.m. Police said Jewel employees reported possession of a fraudulent ID and a fraudulent transaction.
