$3,500 in Jewelry Stolen From River Forest Home

$3,500 of Jewelry Stolen
Someone stole $3,500 in jewelry after entering an unlocked door to a home in the 1300 block of Lathrop. Police said the burglary occurred between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27.

Obstructing an Officer
Ingrid Altorre, 28, of the 500 block of W. Belmont in Chicago, was charged with obstructing a peace officer after a traffic stop. Police said they were called regarding the car, which was in the 500 block of Williams, and smelled a "strong odor of cannabis" coming from the car. Police said Altorre refused to get out of the car and tried to leave from the passenger's side. No weed was found in the car.
Wallet Stolen
A man's wallet was stolen while he was eating at Noodles & Company, 7215 W. Lake St., at about 5 p.m. He said he left his table for a few minutes, and the wallet was gone when he returned. Inside the wallet was $20 and an ID card.

MONDAY, FEB. 25
Phone Harassment
A resident in the 7900 block of North Ave. told police that someone was throwing objects at their window at about 7:05 p.m. Further investigation revealed that it was a domestic issue and that the person throwing the objects made several unwanted phone calls earlier that day. There was no damage reported, but the victim signed criminal complaints for disorderly conduct and phone harassment.
