$400 in Coins Stolen in Burglary, Teens Face Disorderly Conduct Charges: Police

WEDNESDAY, JULY 31

$400 in Coins Stolen in Burglary

Someone broke into a basement in the 1000 block of North Humphrey Avenue between 3 p.m. July 30 and noon July 31 and stole a laptop and $400 in coins. The total estimated loss is $1,900, police said.

Disorderly Conduct Arrests

Police charged Matthew Walker, 19, of the 1200 block of North East Avenue in Oak Park and Nicholas Stevic, 18, of the 900 block of Home Avenue in Oak Park with disorderly conduct after they yelled and chased after a 16-year-old River Forest resident in the 500 block of North Grove Avenue around 11:45 p.m. They were released on bond. 

Power Washer Stolen

Someone stole a power washer from a garage in the 900 block of North Taylor Street between noon July 30 and 3 p.m. July 31. 

Car Parts Stolen

Someone took the lug nuts and spare tire from a car in the 300 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 8 p.m. July 30 and 12:30 a.m. July 31. The total estimated loss is $150, police said. 

Bike Stolen

Someone broke into a garage in the 800 block of Lyman Avenue between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and stole a bike. The total estimated loss is $260, police said.
