$400 Stolen From Restaurant Safe; Juveniles Damage Village Signs

Theft of Service
Travas McGee, 21, of the 2100 block of N. Laverange St. was arrested for theft of service at 6:35 a.m. after eating a meal at the Harlem St. Denny’s and leaving without paying.

Retail Theft
Carl L. Scott, 49, of the 100 block of N. Central Ave. was arrested and charged for felony retail theft. The items were stolen from the Lake St. Dominick’s. A court date has been assigned for April 19.
Criminal Damage to Vehicle
Between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., an unknown person keyed the hood of a car parked at the 200 block of South Blvd.
FRIDAY, APRIL 12
Residential Burglary
A home on the 900 block of S. Taylor St. was broken into and ransacked between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. after an unknown person used a pry tool to unlock the outside door of the home. A glass panel on the interior door was also smashed, allowing the person to reach in and unlock the the door. Once inside, the person ransacked the home, but nothing was reported missing.
SUNDAY, APRIL 7
Marion Street Cheese Market Theft
Julio Angel Davila, 39, of the 3800 block of N. Oak Park Ave. was arrested and charged with theft after video surveillance cameras caught him removing $400 from a safe at the Marion St. Cheese Market at about 9:15 a.m. According to police records, the charges will be upgraded to a felony due to a prior armed robbery conviction on Davila’s record.
Damage to Village Property
Three male Chicago juveniles were arrested and charged with damage to village property after a witness saw them bend and damage the parking signs at the Village of Oak Park. The young men were released to a guardian.
FRIDAY, APRIL 6
Retail Theft
Larnell M. Greene, 44, of the 4300 block of W. 189th St. in Country Club Hills was arrested at about 3 p.m. after video surveillance recorded him entering the Lake St. Dominick’s, taking some items off the shelf, receiving a refund for those items, and then leaving the store. He was charged with felony retail theft due to a prior conviction, according to police reports. He is being held for bond hearing.
Stolen Bike
An unknown person entered a garage on the 1100 block of S. Grove St. between the hours of approximately 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and removed a black and white Scott bicycle. Two cars in the garage were also ransacked, but nothing was stolen. Estimated value of the losses is $400.
