50 Textbooks Stolen From Locker, Tequila, Electronics Stolen in Burglary on Hayes: Police

Oak Park police reports, Oct. 20-21

Monday, October 21

Burglary on Hayes

Someone broke into a home in the 900 block of Hayes Avenue between 6:45 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. and stole a Toshiba laptop, a wireless mouse, a Playstation 3 game system, about six games, an iPod and a bottle of Patron and a pair of Bose headphones from the first floor, and an HP laptop from the second floor. The total estimated loss is $2,730, police said. 

Bricks Thrown Through Windows

Someone broke two glass window panes out of a garage window with landscaping bricks in the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue between 9 and 10 a.m. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Van Stolen on Humphrey

Someone stole a purple Dodge Caravan from the 1100 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 7:35 and 7:50 p.m. The total estimated loss is $2,500, police said. 

Garage Break-in

Someone stole a $300 bike from an open garage in the 1100 block of Clinton Avenue between 10 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7 a.m. Oct. 21. 

Car Break-ins

  • Someone stole $5 in coins from an unlocked car in the 1100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 8 a.m. Oct. 21.
  • Someone stole a $400 GPS unit from an unlocked car in the 100 block of South Boulevard between 10 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7 a.m. Oct. 21. 
  • Someone broke the front passenger window of a car in the 1000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue and stole a backpack containing a phone charger and papers. The total estimated loss is $250, police said. 

Car Window Broken

Someone broke the rear passenger window of a car in the 800 block of South Lombard Avenue between 8 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7 a.m. Oct. 21. The estimated cost of damage is $255, police said. 

Sunday, October 20

50 Textbooks Stolen

Someone stole 50 textbooks from an unlocked storage locker in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard between midnight Aug. 1 and 11 p.m. Oct. 20. The total estimated loss is $3,000, police said.
