$9,000 Lottery Scam Reported in River Forest

SATURDAY, AUGUST 24

Man Steals $88 in Razor Blades

Police charged Silvan Krzalic, 20, of Harwood Heights, with retail theft after he stole $88 in razor blades from Jewel, 7525 Lake St., around 3:20 p.m. He was charged with felony retail theft because of a prior retail theft conviction, police said.

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a mountain bike from an unlocked garage in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue. The total estimated loss is $1,600, police said.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23

Car Part Stolen

Someone cut the catalytic converter from a Pontiac Sunfire parked in the 7200 block of Thomas about 2:30 p.m.

$9,000 Lottery Scam

Police are investigating a report that a woman was influenced to turn over $9,000 as part of a lottery scam around 6 p.m. at Jewel, 7525 W. Lake St. 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21 

Felony Driving while License Revoked for DUI Arrest

Police charged Jose Rojano, 36, of Chicago, with felony driving while license revoked during a traffic stop about 4:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of North Avenue. Police said Rojano received the felony charge because of a prior DUI conviction in Cook County. 

Purse, Camera Stolen in Car Break-in

Someone broke a passenger side window of a car parked in the 7200 block of Lake Street about 10:30 p.m. and stole a purse, wallet, camera, glasses and several credit cards. The total estimated loss is more than $300, police said.
