The calculators were taken within the last year from students at , Reynolds said. Borowski-Beszta was scheduled to be a senior at the school this fall, District 200 officials said.

Reynolds any additional charges could be related to the possession of stolen merchandise, but he stopped short of specifics.

“We need to determine if the property was stolen; if it was then there could be other charges,” he said. “We are still in the midst of the investigation.”

In the meantime, Borowski-Beszta remains in Cook County Jail in lieu of posting a $300,000 bond. He is due to appear for his first appearance in Maybrook Court on Sept. 2.

Borowski-Beszta was charged Aug. 4 with an array of felony drug charges and aggravated use of a weapon. Based on the investigation, the drugs were connected to him, police said.

Recovered at the apartment were a .40-caliber handgun, ammunition and two safes containing 126 grams of marijuana, 29.7 grams of cocaine, $1,000 in cash, a money counting machine and scales. The drugs were packaged for sale, police said.

Two other men, brothers Ryan Reyes, 28, and Christopher Reyes, 23, were charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession in connection with the drug ring, police said. Information about a court date for them was not available.  The younger Reyes was living in the apartment where the bust took place, police said.
