Oak Park police reports from May 29

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29  

Break-in, Car Damage

Someone went into an unlocked garage in the 100 block of North Humphrey Street and peeled a steering column from a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country between 5 p.m. May 27 and 10:45 a.m. May 29. The total damage is $500, police said.  

Marijuana, Intent to Deliver

Police charged Melissa Matranga, 25, of Lisle with marijuana possession during a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Austin Avenue around 5 p.m. Police found 11 bags containing a total of 38 grams of marijuana, a pipe and a scale in Matranga’s car, police said. She was charged with marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver. She was processed and held for bond hearings.  

Aggravated DUI

Gretchen Behling, 41, of the 400 block of South Wesley Avenue in Oak Park turned herself in to police around 4:40 p.m. for an active Kendall Country warrant for aggravated DUI. She was processed and held for Kendall County.  

Phone Stolen at AT&T Store

A man stole about $650 in electronics from the AT&T, 4136 N. Harlem Ave. around 1 p.m. Police said the stores security camera showed the man, 25- to 35-years-old, stealing a gray Samsung Galaxy Note from the display. Police said the man is of medium build, has short black hair and wore a black shirt, black jeans and dark glasses.  

Break-in Attempt

Someone tried to pry open a garage door in the 500 block of North Lombard Avenue between 6 p.m. May 28 and 6 a.m. May 29. The estimated damage is $200, police said.  

Bikes Stolen

Someone broke into a garage in the 700 block of Lyman Avenue and stole two bikes between 5 p.m. May 28 and 11:30 a.m. May 29. The estimated loss is $400, police said.  

Stolen Car Found

A beige 2006 Dodge Stratus reported stolen in Chicago was found in the 1100 block of South Cuyler Avenue around 3:50 a.m.
