Man Walks Into Occupied Home on Wesley

A man in his 30s entered an unlocked home in the 800 block of Wesley Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Police said the man fled when the victim confronted him. No loss reported.

Burglary

Someone used a pry tool to break into a home in the 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue between 1 and 2 p.m. Police said the offender ransacked the home and stole bank papers that are worth about $250.

Warrant Arrests

Failure to appear (suspended license)
Police charged George Rios, 41, of Forest Park, with a warrant out of Oak Park for failure to appear for driving on a suspended license. He was arrested around 12:50 p.m. in the 7100 block of North Avenue, given a Jan. 6 court date and released on bond. 

Failure to appear (retail theft)
Police charged Ranee Tart, 57, of Chicago, with a warrant out of Oak Park for failure to appear for a retail theft charge. She was arrested around 1 p.m. at the Illinois Department of Corrections Correctional Center, given a Jan. 6 court date and held on bond.

Purse Stolen From Woman on Scoville

A male in his late teens grabbed a woman's purse in the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue around 6:30 p.m. The offender was last seen running north on Scoville, police said. The total estimated loss is $610, police said. 

iPhone Stolen in Emergency Room

Someone stole an iPhone from a bag in the emergency room at West Suburban Hospital between 9 and 10:45 p.m. The total estimated loss is $300, police said. 

Cell Phone Stolen in Restaurant

Someone stole an unattended cell phone from a counter at a restaurant in the 6400 block of West North Avenue between 4:30 and 4:38 p.m. The total estimated loss is $250, police said. 

Window Damage

Someone punched a hole through a window at a business in the 0-100 block of Madison Street between 9 p.m. Nov. 26 and noon Nov. 27. The estimated cost of damage is $1,400, police said. Police said an "unknown" projectile was used to break the window. 

Tuesday, November 26

Aggravated Robbery on Madison

A male offender threatened a man by putting a hard object to his back in a robbery in the 0-100 block of Madison Street. Police said a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s approached the man and threatened him around 11:30 a.m. 

The offenders walked the man north on Humphrey Avenue, stole $460 from his pocket then fled north on Humphrey, police said. 

Police said the male offender was about 5-feet-10, 160 pounds and wearing a black coat, blue jacket, a white shirt and a yellow tie, black pants and black shoes. The female was described as about 5-feet-4, 180 pounds and wearing a black skull cap, a black leather jacket, dark camouflage pants and dark Nike Airmax gym shoes. 

The total estimated loss is $460.00, police said. 

Marijuana Possession

Police charged Marcus Walker, 30, of Chicago, was charged with marijuana possession, driving on a suspended license and without insurance and a warrant out of Champaign County for a traffic offense during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Madison Street around midnight. He was released on bond. 

Woman Arrested for Stealing Laundry Detergent

Police charged Joyce Smith-Brown, 61, of the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard in Oak Park, with retail theft after she stole a 100-ounce package of laundry detergent from CVS on Madison Street around 1 p.m. She was released on bond. 

Burglary Attempts 

1000 block, South Ridgeland Avenue
Someone tried to force open the rear door of a home in the 1000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue between 8 a.m. Nov. 25 and 8 a.m. Nov. 26. No entry gained.

Oak Park Apartments

Someone used a pry tool to try to break into Oak Park Apartments in the 0-100 block of Chicago Avenue between 6 p.m. Nov. 25 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 27, causing damage to the door and frame. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. No entry was gained. 

Purse Stolen

Someone stole a brown Juicy Couture purse containing IDs, house keys and cash from a dining area in the 1000 block of Lake Street between 4:25 and 4:45 p.m. The total estimated loss is $263, police said. 

Stolen Car Recovered

The 2008 Saab reported stolen Nov. 22 was recovered in Chicago. Police charged Jonathan Carter, 27, of Chicago. 

Warrant Arrest: Driving While License Revoked

Police charged Kenneth Perry, 45, of Poplar Grove, with a warrant out of Oak Park for driving while license revoked with a $10,000 bond. He was given a Dec. 31 court date and released. 

Suspended License, Warrant

Police charged Joel Barrera-Cantoran, 48, of Chicago, with driving on a suspended license and a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear for driving without a valid license during a traffic stop at the intersection of Madison Street and Ridgeland Avenue about 4:40 p.m. He was processed and released on bond. 

Tools Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole a saw, a biscuit cutter and a toolbox containing miscellaneous tools from an unlocked garage in the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue between 5 p.m. Nov. 25 and 7 a.m. Nov. 26. The total estimated loss is $500, police said. 

Protection Order Violation 

Police charged Jeffery Phillips, 38, of Chicago, with violating an order of protection in the 500 block of North Humphrey Avenue around 10:30 p.m. He was held for bond hearings. 

Warrant: Suspended License

Police charged Kory Davis, 39, of Chicago, with a warrant out of Oak Park for driving on a suspended license around 2:20 a.m. He was held on bond. 

Monday, November 25

Burglary Arrests

  • Police charged Patrick Siciliano-Exorphe, 19, of the 200 block of Lake Street in Oak Park, with a residential burglary that occurred Oct. 17 in the 0-100 block of Superior Street. Police said a witness identified Siciliano-Exorphe after she saw him climbing into the victim's apartment window. He was given a Dec. 6 court date and held on bond. 
  • Police charged Antonio Goode, 19, and Rodney Martin, 21, both of Chicago, with a Nov. 21 burglary in the 300 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Oak Park at the Forest Park Police Department around 2:30 p.m. They were both held for bond hearings. 

Man Charged With Stealing Phone

Police charged Devon Henderson, 28, of Chicago, with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after he stole a cell phone from someone's hand in the 700 block of South Austin Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. He was given a Dec. 6 court date and held on bond.

iPhone Stolen at OPRFHS

Someone stole a white iPhone from an unlocked gym locker at Oak Park and River Forest High School between 10:40 and 11:30 a.m. The total estimated loss is $100, police said. 

Trespassing Arrest

Police charged John Maher, 76, of Chicago, with trespassing after he went onto a porch in the 1000 block of South Humphrey Avenue and started ringing the doorbell around 7:30 p.m. after receiving notification that he wasn't allowed on the property. 

Car Vandalized

Someone damaged the grill, bolt and socket of a 2005 Honda parked in the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue between 11:20 a.m. Nov. 24 and noon Nov. 25. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

Tires Slashed

Someone slashed two tires of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt parked in the 400 block of South Maple Avenue between 7 p.m. Nov. 24 and 5 p.m. Nov. 25. The estimated cost of damage is $200, police said. 

Thieves Take 13 Bottles of Body Wash

A male and a female, both in their 40s, stole 13 bottles of Dove body wash from CVS in the 6700 block of Roosevelt Road around 1:20 p.m. Police said the offenders left the store without paying and drove north on Oak Park Avenue in a red Pontiac. The total estimated loss is $110, police said. 

Thursday, November 21

Package Stolen From Porch

Someone stole a FedEx package containing a master card from a front porch in the 900 block of Columbian Avenue between 2:20 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. Nov. 21.

Wednesday, November 20

Jewelry, Credit Card Stolen

Someone stole a woman's ring, necklace and a credit card from her home in the 0-100 block of Superior Street between noon Nov. 16 and noon Nov. 20. The woman told police that her niece was staying at her apartment while she was away and that she'd had friends over. The total estimated loss is $3,300, police said.
