Angry Panhandler Blocks Car, Other Cars Burglarize: Police Blotter

River Forest police reports, June 17-23.

MONDAY, JUNE 17

Angry Panhandler Blocks Car

Scott Booker, 52, of the 5800 block of W. Lake Street in Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Booker blocked a woman's car from pulling out of a parking spot in the River Forest Town Center after she refused to give him money.

Lawn Chairs Stolen

Someone stole six lawn chairs from the back yard of a home in the 500 block of Clinton. The incident occurred between June 12 and June 15, and the estimated loss was $200. 

TUESDAY, JUNE 18

Car Mirror Taken

The driver's side mirror was stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of Franklin sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. June 17. 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19

Booze Stolen

Becky Degraffenried, 40, of Broadview, was charged with retail theft. Police said she tried to steal $40 in liquor from Dominick's, 7501 W. North Ave. in River Forest. 

Retail Theft

Lisa Hughes, 25, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft. Police said she tried to steal $146 in food and hair products from Whole Foods Market, 7245 W. Lake St. 

THURSDAY, JUNE 20

Car Damaged

Police reported that someone damaged a car parked in the 1500 block of Monroe. The car was keyed and had damage to the passenger side doors. 

SUNDAY, JUNE 23

Car Burglary

Someone stole a Sirius radio system and power cord from a car parked in the 1400 block of Monroe. The estimated loss is $220.
