Another Jewelry Business Burglarized in Oak Park

Marelli Gold & Diamond Exchange was burglarized just a week after Kuba Jewelers was broken into.

Just a week after Kuba Jewelers was burglarized, another jewelry business in Oak Park suffered a loss. 

Oak Park police said Marelli Gold & Diamond Exchange, 6800 Roosevelt Rd., was broken into at 2:38 a.m. Friday, March 1. A man was seen on video surveillance breaking the door by throwing a pipe wrench through it.

The man then use the wrench to break display cases. He was seen removing various items and ran westbound on Roosevelt. 

Police said the estimated damage is $700, but the loss of the merchandise was not immediately known. 

Overnight on Feb. 24, someone cut a hole in the wall of the vacant business next to Kuba Jewelers and stole jewelry and cash from the business.
