Another Ruse Burglary Reported in River Forest

It was the second reported ruse burglary to occur in March, according to police.

Jewelry was stolen from a home in the 800 block of Park Avenue following a ruse burglary at 4:24 p.m. March 25, River Forest police said.

A man came to the door in a "Carhartt-style jacket" and a tool belt and convinved the homeowner to follow him to the back yard to check an electrical problem.

Meanwhile, a second person came through the unlocked front door and walked around before being confronted by the husband, who saw the second man inside.
