Armed Robbery in River Forest

Victim tells police the driver of Cadillac pulled a gun on him, then demanded cash.

A Maywood man walking through River Forest was held up at gunpoint and robbed, police said. 

The attack took place around 4 a.m. on Aug. 19 in the 800 block of West Madison Street, where the victim was walking westbound on the sidewalk and approached by the driver of a silver and blue Cadillac.

According to a police report, the driver asked the victim, 21, if he needed a ride. The victim declined the offer and kept walking. Shortly after, the driver ran up to the victim, confronted him with a revolver and demanded cash.

The victim turned over $30; the offender sped away westbound in the Cadillac.
